Like you could be going through any crisis known to man and a friend offering to put the kettle on will make things better without a doubt, even if it's only fractionally. I have a perfect example from earlier this week. I was having an awful day, was stressed, tired and upset and basically almost had a total breakdown in front of my friend, who is not the most emotionally adept person ever - he doesn't do the whole 'talking about emotional stuff' all that well and is a bit averse to physical contact so he just sat there awkwardly while I just garbled upset nonsense at him, and after he'd let me finish he just put his hand on my shoulder and looked at me and said 'do you want a cup of tea?' and for him, that's probably the greatest thing he's ever done for me as a friend. TEA HEALS ALL <3
